What is a Quality Manual? A Quality Manual is a document that was first required by the ISO 9001 standard for Quality Management Systems. A Quality Manual is a top-level document that describes an organisation’s Quality Management System (QMS). It can be used both internally (for employees) and externally (for customers and auditors).
The quality manual template is a supplement to the laboratory quality management system training toolkit, Module 16 - Documents and records.
In many cases the Quality Manual will identify none, but the most common exclusion is the requirement of the ISO 9001 standard for “Design & Development” for companies such as a machining shop, which works exclusively from customer drawings and does not design any products itself.
