Deploying Qualys Cloud Agents. Qualys agents are integrated into the Recommendations for the vulnerability assessment solution within the security center. The Security center automatically detects the virtual machines and with this integration, users can directly deploy the Qualys Cloud Agent.
Cloud Agent requirements - We support these systems: Windows, Linux/Unix (.rpm), Linux (.deb), BSD(.txz), Apple Mac OSX (.pkg) Cloud Agent Platform Availability Matrix - Your hosts must be able to reach your Qualys Cloud Platform (or the Qualys Private Cloud Platform) over HTTPS port 443.
The agent stores a snapshot on the agent host to quickly determine differences to the host metadata it collects. Such scans occur every 4 hours and are performed per VM, where artifacts are collected and sent for analysis to the Qualys Cloud service in the defined region.
Using the Qualys Cloud Platform API (VM, PC), third parties can integrate their own applications with Qualys cloud security and compliance solutions using an extensible XML interface. The APIs and related XML output and DTDs described in this guide are available to customers using the Qualys API.
