For the first time in the hobby, Railfan Models presents the HO scale, 400 Ton, 16 axle depressed deck flat car. The prototype car is almost 149’ long and rides on eight 100 ton trucks with 36” wheels. The depressed deck measures 40’ long by 9′ wide . There are 7 cars in this series to date, with road numbers KRL 164000 through 1640006.

I don't have a V8 to compare it to but I wouldn't doubt that an older model would outperform many newer radios. The first scanner I ever owned, a Uniden BC100XL back in the late 1980s was the best scanner on the airband that I ever owned. Later scanners struggled to pull in signals that the old 100XL easily pulled in.

In the United Kingdom, railfans are usually called trainspotters or anoraks. The term gricer has been used in the UK since at least 1969, and is "said to have been current in 1938 amongst members of the Manchester Locomotive Society", according to the Oxford English Dictionary.
So how much does a freight train weigh? This train would weigh approximately 19,188 tons (42,328,754 lbs), out of which 848 tons (1,869,519 lbs) would be the total weight of the locomotives and 18,340 tons (40,432,778 lbs) the total weight of the loaded grain hopper cars.
How much does a steam locomotive weigh? A steam locomotive can weigh anywhere between 165,800 lb or 75.5 tons and 1,200,000 lbs or 600 tons. The first example is the Great Western Railway 6800 Class and the heaviest steam locomotive in the example is the Big Boy 4014 with the astonishing 1.2 million lbs weight.
