RAKwireless recommends a lightning arrestor to be installed on all the antenna N-Type terminals (LoRa, LTE, Wi-Fi and GPS). It is recommended to use a 10-AWG or better grounding wire to connect the arrestor to the tower mounted LoRa antenna. The arrestors have to be Female to Male type in order to fit the antenna and housing connectors.

When you are ready to set up your RAK Hotspot Miner, plugin, and connect the included power supply to the USB-C port on the RAK Hotspot Miner. By default, the firmware is configured to operate the Raspberry Pi in Wi-Fi AP mode, which means that you should be able to find an SSID named “ RAKwireless_XXXX ” on the Wi-Fi network list, for example: Connect to this Wi-Fi SSID by using "RAKwireless" as the default password.
By default, the gateway will work in Wi-Fi AP Mode which means that you can find an SSID named like " RAKwireless_XXXX " on your PC Wi-Fi Network List. “XXXX” is the last 2 bytes of your RAK7244’s WiFi MAC address. Connect to this Wi-Fi SSID using the password provided below.

Set up RAK Gateway LoRa Concentrator - used to configure the frequency, which the Gateway will operate on, and the LoRaWAN Server which the Gateway will work with. Restart packet -forwarder - used to restart the LoRa packet forwarded process.
Antenna Feeder Line for RAK7249 Lightning Protection. This antenna feeder line is an NJ-NF adapter cable with a length of 1.5m. It is an RG8 coaxial cable with N-type connector as the antenna feeder.
