Jan 02, 2020 . Rapsodo upgraded their product but not the enclosed instruction sheet. The latest instructions are available on their web site. This looks like a great unit that does virtually everything except give spin numbers. Apparently you need to put stickers on the clubhead AND the ball to get a spin number. Where Rapsodo has gone to another level is with Coach Connect. Launched in full a few weeks ago with a full slate of assets, it offers an all-in-one coaching platform connecting golfers to swing instructors for online lessons. Virtual interaction is smooth, reliable and pretty simple to coordinate through the app. That includes payment.
The packaging was very nice overall, and the device came in a case similar to what you’d find a high-end range finder shipped with. It’s very sturdy and high-quality canvas, with a zipper pouch for the device. Rapsodo Launch Monitor contents out of the box. Inside was the Rapsodo MLM, a USB charging cable, and some quick start instructions.
Right now, you can maneuver the 'practice' mode and manipulate it so that it's reading your location for GPS, but then you have to 'spin' the heading so it knows which direction you're teeing off in, which is a pain, esp if wearing a golf glove and/or tape on your fingers as I do when I play.
Rapsodo is health and wellness for your golf game. It checks every box in terms of performance function, not with bells and whistles, but with a well-executed platform for improvement. The company has continued to refine the public-facing app with updates at least once every four to five weeks for several months.
Together with the camera of your Apple device and the MLM’s own Doppler radar, the MLM can accurately measure six essential data parameters including ball speed and launch angle. Your mobile device’s GPS also allows for shot mapping. At launch, the MLM could only be used out on the range where the ball could take its full flight.
The Rapsodo Launch Monitor is an incredible piece of technology. It provides excellent video feedback with the launch tracer of your shot. It provides clear data on distance, clubhead speed, ball speed, and launch angle for each shot. It projects all of your shots on a satellite image of where you are hitting your shots from.
