The LaRavel Auth service is incredibly powerful, allowing you to configure different "guards" to protect different areas of your site - e.g. a user area & admin area. It's also very flexible as it allows you to use different user providers or drivers.
Kidding apart, that's something you need to inform LaRavel explicitly. Go ahead and look at the contents of the config/app.php file. You'll find an array entry that lists all the service providers that will be loaded during the bootstrapping of the LaRavel application.
The user accounts for your application need to be stored somewhere - that might be in a local database under your control, or it could be a 3rd party authentication system delivered via an API. The authentication user providers in LaRavel sit between your data source, and the core LaRavel auth service.
Very small customizations of the EloquentUserProvider can be done by means of the following code inside the boot method of your AuthServiceProvider. None of the solutions I found quite worked for me, so I figured out a super easy way. ( LaRavel 5.4) My problem was that I had to allow users to log in with their phone number too.
