Install RBRCIT (Car Installation Tool) (click on releases for downloads). This is as simple as dropping the files into your RBR directory. Open RBRCIT.exe. It will ask you if you want to create a backup, select 'Yes'. It will then ask you if you want to extract audio.dat, select 'Yes' and wait for the dattool to do it's thing.

Click the RSRBR button and load the MULLIGATAWNY profile (you will have to use this one from now on). Adjust the settings for pacenotes and controls settings. Save your settings, and give it a try.

In Setting -->Plugins -- > RBR Tournament --> Online tournaments you'll get the list of open turnaments, choose one, entry into, set all you need, and then start race. Getting started with RBR & the latest mods isn't as painful as it has been in the past. Especially with wonderful tools such as RBRCIT, it's never been easier. You don't have to download a dozen+ GB of files just to try the latest cars with the latest physics.
Start with a computer without Richard Burns Rally (RBR) or the RSRBR mods installed on it. So if you have an earlier version or RSRBR you have to uninstall that along with RBR. If you want to be able to enter online rallies (through RSRBR itself, not the weekly rally here), go to Rallyesim.com and make an account for their forums.
The most easy way is to use installers from Jakub Dolezal and Jakub Rojek: RBR Czech Quick start installers - patch, plugin, NGP physics etc. Does not contain the original game.
There are a few problems now: Rallyschool doesn't work, replays crash, the ffb on the normal cars is bad. I try to only use the ngp_ cars (next generation physics), in these the ffb is great and they feel far better. There are some strange things like starting the car (go to N and push the throttle).
There are some strange things like starting the car (go to N and push the throttle). has all mods and tracks built in ,and install is easier than any of the Rallyesim RSRBR mods. It turned out a bit buggy,but has all tracks and cars that the community made for it,including the excellent Czech rally tracks.
Never had any problems at all with RSRBR and resolution. The clutch doesn't recognize until you can press the throttle and start reving your engine. The gears however works for some reason anyway (it's the H-shifter plugins fault, not RSRBR's fault). Never had any problems at all with RSRBR and resolution.
