“Residential care and nursing home communities have been on the front-line of mitigating COVID-19 throughout the pandemic and these added infection prevention measures will help us combat variants of concern and rising cases when they occur,” said Randy Kuykendall, Director, Health Facilities and EMS Division, CDPHE.
In general, a CBRF resident or nursing home residentcan stay in their new home for the rest of his or her life, while an RCAC resident may need to move as their personal safety risks increase. Some assisted living facilities are affiliated, located on the same property, so residents move within the campus as additional assistance is required.
With the seventh amended Public Health Order 20-20, each facility must establish and maintain a COVID-19 mitigation plan that promotes vaccine confidence and acceptance and must continue to offer vaccinations to all consenting staff and residents.
It begins with state, tribal and local governments identifying natural disaster risks and vulnerabilities that are common in their area. After identifying these risks, they develop long-term strategies for protecting people and property from similar events. Mitigation plans are key to breaking the cycle of disaster damage and reconstruction.
These revisions simplify terminology and improve consistency among FEMA’s hazard mitigation grant programs. The Mitigation Planning Program is updating the state and local mitigation planning policies, also known as the Plan Review Guides, to reflect recent legislative changes and policy updates.
The updates replace outdated terms and definitions with similar terms and definitions that better align with Code of Federal Regulations Title 2 part 200: Uniform Administrative Guidance and the Hazard Mitigation Assistance Guidance. These revisions simplify terminology and improve consistency among FEMA’s hazard mitigation grant programs.
