Remote Desktop Connection, short RDC (also called Remote Desktop) is the client application for Windows Remote Desktop Services using RDP to allow a user to remotely log into a networked computer running the terminal services server.
Because each logon to a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client receives a separate session ID, the user-experience is similar to being logged on to multiple computers at the same time; for example, an office computer and a home computer. Each remote desktop session is associated with an interactive window station.
When a user logs off from a Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) client, the session that the client has on the Remote Desktop Session Host (RD Session Host) server (formerly known as a terminal server) is deleted and the window stations and desktops associated with that session are removed.
In your client Windows computer search for Remote Desktop Connection, click it to start RDC: 3.2.) Type the remote host computer name or local (private) IP address and click Connect if you want to connect using default settings (if default is OK for you, you can skip steps 3.3 to 3.8 .):
Remote Desktop Services (RDS) is the platform of choice for building virtualization solutions for every end customer need, including delivering individual virtualized applications, providing secure mobile and remote desktop access, and providing end users the ability to run their applications and desktops from the cloud.
The Remote Desktop Services Management Pack helps you manage computers that are running Remote Desktop Services on Windows Server 2016 by monitoring the health of all Remote Desktop Services role services, except MultiPoint Services. Note: There are multiple files available for this download.
In Windows Server 2012 R2 and Windows Server 2012, the following Remote Desktop Services role services can be installed with this role: Remote Desktop Virtualization Host (RD Virtualization Host) integrates with Hyper-V to deploy pooled or personal virtual desktop collections within your organization.
The Remote Desktop Services license server issues client access licenses (CALs) to users and devices when they access the RD Session Host. You can activate the license server by using the Remote Desktop Licensing Manager. Sign into the server you want to use as the license server using an administrator account.
