Most people are familiar with the concept of data recording. If you’ve seen films from the early days of NASA, you might have seen banks of paper-based chart recorders, endlessly streaming out squiggly lines. These were the days before graphical video displays. Paper was the easiest way to provide a real-time display of measured signals. Typical paper-based strip chart recorde…

What is a Data Acquisition System? We define a data acquisition system as a device (DAS or DAQ device) that converts analog electrical signals from physical phenomena into the digital domain and then utilizes a computer for data visualization, storage, and analysis, under the control of associated software.
Data Acquisition (DAQ) Data acquisition (DAQ) is the measurement, recording, analyzing, and presentation of real-world phenomena. It includes electrical measurements such as voltage, current, power as well as measurements through sensors and transducers including temperature, pressure, flow, level, strain, acceleration, pH, humidity and more.
The initial requirement of these newly mandated data recorders was to record the actual flight conditions of the aircraft, i.e., heading, altitude, air- speed, vertical acceleration and time. These early devices had very limited recording capabilities.
The Perception software, which is designed for fast and reliable processing of large amount of data and is therefore ideal for high-speed data acquisition. Need to use your own software? No problem, the Genesis HighSpeed hardware can be easily integrated into your own software.
