This Rocketfish is a factory second of the Cooler Master Hyper TX3, re-branded for sale by Best Buy. Its fabrication did not meet spec for Cooler Master. The most consequential difference between it and the TX3 is the bottom of the heat sink, the flat metal part with 3 copper tubes running through it.

I just finished installing this fan, so this is an initial review. However, I got my quad core idle temps down from 50C to 35C by replacing the stock Intel fan with this Rocketfish CPU Cooler and included SIL thermal compound. After 45 minutes of Prime95 stress testing, the cpu temps under full load is 65C.

My CPU now runs 10-15 degrees C cooler at idle and about 5-10 degrees C cooler under load! If your looking for an upgraded cooling solution, but don't want to spend to much money I would definately suggest this, but be warry that Intel socket 775 instalation is a bit tricky.

Oct 12, 2008 . Flattest CPU cooler that still has a decent fan. Will fit in CRAZY thin cases. The coolermaster/Rocketfish would fit in mine just fine and still have room to spare. I'm really liking its performance and quietness. Glad someone else on here has used it! The Rocketfish is identical to the coolermaster with the exception of the fan. Same fan, but black on the coolermaster, clear on the Rocketfish.
