While modern electronic lock systems are more sleek and difficult to hack than ever before, this wasn’t always the case. In fact, until recently, these types of systems were no more secure than a manual deadbolt. Anyone in proximity to the door at the time of opening could discern the PIN code and essentially gain access to the “key.”

May 05, 2011 . The lock is past S&G's warranty period and I really would prefer to put a mechanical lock in it's place if possible, if not, or if too labor intensive, I will just buy another safe. I have pre-marked where I'll need to hole-saw if the current lock gives out. Thanks for any help.

The typical combination lock has a combination dial that is attached to a spindle. Inside the lock, the spindle runs through several wheels and a drive cam. The number of wheels in a wheel pack is determined by how many numbers are in the combination - one wheel for each number. When you turn the dial, the spindle turns the drive cam.
Safes with a combination lock are a great choice if you want a safe that does not require any batteries. No need to run to the store for replacement batteries or having to wait until next to time you remember to pick some up, all the while not being able to get into your safe.
Patients often forget to apply the brakes when attempting to stand. Then they use the wheelchair for support and the wheelchair rolls away, causing them to fall. The Anti-Rollback System helps prevent accidents because it locks the wheels automatically when the patient begins to stand.
A wheelchair may be the most useful medical device at your disposal, but routine standing and sitting can cause rollback and serious injury. This automatic wheelchair safety device is a very clever, easy-to-install device that AUTOMATICALLY locks the wheels whenever the person stands or sits.
The Anti-Rollback System’s weight-sensitive braking mechanism automatically locks rear wheelchair wheels when a patient stands, helping to reduce incidences of harmful falls.
Once seated, the device is in "stand-by" mode and the wheelchair functions normally. The automatic anti-rollback device works by spring tension. A padded lever beneath the seat is depressed when the occupant is seated; this lever is connected to a pair of stainless steel brake arms that are held just off the surface of the rear tires.
