• Do you need to learn the safety care manual?

• What do you need to know about safety care?

  Safety-Care is a training program for staff working with children, adolescents, or adults who may exhibit challenging or dangerous behavior. We’ll learn how to prevent many behavioral incidents, as well as what to do if an incident does happen.

• How long does it take to complete a safety care module?

  Each module requires a half day for trainer training or 2–2 ½ hours for specialist training. School Age Children: While the procedures in the core Safety-Care curriculum are applicable to working with individuals of any age, this module provides supplemental training specific to a younger population.

• What are the skills in the safety care module?

  This module provides an expanded toolbox of skills and strategies for those already certified in the Safety-Care ® Core Curriculum. It includes physical safety skills, team intervention, strategies for prevention and management of peer aggression, vehicle incidents, object management, transitions, and floor holds.

• What do you need to know about safety care?

  Safety-Care ® Behavioral Safety Training program provides the skills and competencies necessary to effectively prevent, minimize, and manage behavioral challenges with dignity, safety, and the possibility of change. Safety-Care provides the tools you need to be safe when working with behaviorally challenging individuals.

  Whether it’s manual handling safety videos, fire safety training videos, or maybe even office safety DVDs, SafetyCare can provide our video content in the following regions/languages: Australia, UK, USA, Canada, Singapore, French and Spanish.

• When to use restraint in a safety care setting?

  These strategies are appropriate for individuals experiencing developmental, neurologic, psychiatric, and other impairments. Safety-Care promotes a positive reinforcement-based approach and develops new skills, resulting in fewer restraints. Restraint must be used only when there are no other safe options and must end as quickly as possible

• Do you need a trainer for safety care?

  Safety-Care® is primarily a Train the Trainer model but can provide training directly to your Organization, as well. Selecting the right person as your organization's trainer (s) is very important, it is not the role for everyone.
