Dec 10, 2010 . At first everything was fine but then the pump started making strangled screeching noises and also pulsing. There were also lots of black bits - looking a bit like swarf coming from the taps. We complained to Salamander and one of their engineers came and fitted a new pump on September 25. The inlet filters on the old pump were completely clear.

2.3 Hot water requirements The stored hot water temperature must not exceed 65ºC (see page 18, Stored hot water temperature). The hot water supply to the pump must be via a Salamander approved method: The best hot connection from the cylinder is either • A 3⁄4” NO STOP ESSEX FLANGE.

There is nothing wrong with the water flows to the pump and the domestic hot water temperature is only 56 degrees. Salamanders reaction is to send me, by carrier, yet another pump and have offered no opinion as to what may be wrong.

Correct installation is the guarantee of safety and a trouble free system. It is therefore important to read these instructions thoroughly and ensure you comply with them.
The hot water supply to the pump must be via a Salamander approved method: The best hot connection from the cylinder is either • A 3⁄4” NO STOP ESSEX FLANGE. See Figure 3 or • Alternatively a Salamander S flange or other approved top entry flanges. See page 16. • Never fit to top entry flange if the pump is fitted above the cylinder.
Any queries should be directed to PumpWise on 0191 516 2002 (01844-3212 ROI). Do not use Salamander Pumps for applications other than those stated within the pump description, or connect the pump directly to the cold mains. To do so invalidates the warranty.
