published 10 months ago. Bought Saltmate RP20 chlorinator in 2017, the unit failed 5 months after and after some exchanges, it was replaced by another unit. In mid-2020 (less than 3 years), the unit malfunctioned again and the repair cost $450 but the unit failed again after 3 months, it had to be returned for rectification.

If your pool is heated, you should think about getting the Saltmate 150. Suitable for fibreglass pools. If your pool is concrete a self cleaning unit is recommended as the cells will build up with calcium deposits very quickly and very regular cleaning would be required, reducing the life of the cell.
Agitating the cell while immersed will speed up the process, the less time the cell is spent in the liquid the better. Rinse with fresh cold water before reassbling the cell into the housing. To clean your cell, Saltmate recommends 'Saltmate Salt Cell Cleaner'.
