Over-the Range microwaves are shipped with the necessary top and rear templates that allows the you or your installer to more easily drill the mounting screw holes and cut out the areas for the vent and power cord. The rear template is only used if the microwave is being vented to the outside out of the rear of the microwave. The mounting bracket on the back of the microwave does not have a template.
