The clearest example of the use of Scandinavia is Finland, based largely on the fact that most of modern-day Finland was part of the Swedish kingdom for hundreds of years, thus to much of the world associating Finland with all of Scandinavia.
Most people consider Scandinavia to include Norway, Sweden and Denmark, though this is open to much debate – not least in the Scandinavian countries themselves. Geographically, at least, the Scandinavian peninsula includes Norway, Sweden and northern Finland.
The term Scandinavia (sometimes specified in English as Continental Scandinavia or mainland Scandinavia) is commonly used strictly for Denmark, Norway and Sweden as a subset of the Nordic countries (known in Norwegian, Danish, and Swedish as Norden; Finnish: Pohjoismaat, Icelandic: Norðurlöndin, Faroese: Norðurlond ).
The Scandinavian nations share many cultural traits including similar flags and many related languages. The region is known for its natural beauty and more recently its liberalism. Denmark, Finland and Sweden are EU members.
This is an unofficial wiki made by fans of the mod for Victoria 2: Divergences of Darkness. Just as a quick disclaimer, this page is unofficial, any recommendations to change things in the mod should be sent to the devs of the mod, not us! DoD is also still being worked on, so is this wiki!
Divergences of Darkness. The Divergences of Darkness mod, formerly known as Divergences, is a mod for Victoria 2 which presents world with many points of divergences, events that differed from our current timeline.. It represents an alternate world with tons of new countries, cultures, events, decisions and graphics.
The first decision that diverged the timeline is called the Point of Divergence. In the Divergences mod there are PODs that are not bound to each other: Isabella of Spain married a Portuguese prince, instead of Ferdinand II.
The region of Scandinavia, which includes Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, has recently earned much-deserved praise as a travel destination. It combines photogenic beautiful cities, rugged wilderness, the world’s hottest design aesthetic, and the happiest people on earth.
