Open the SUU on a computer that is connected to the Internet. Open the Help menu and select Check for Shure Update Utility Updates.... Select the Download button to download the latest version from the Shure webserver. Once the file has been downloaded to the computer, select Yes, Install Now to update the application.
PSM1000 devices with firmware version 1.1.0 or earlier must use Shure Update Utility version 2.4.1 or older. Attempts to download ULXD6/8 transmitter firmware to a ULX-D or QLX-D receiver that is not at the minimum firmware version, shown below, will fail.
Firmware for portable Shure devices, such as transmitters or receivers, is either updated directly through the SUU, or via IR sync with a networked device. The networked device hosts a firmware package for the supported portable device, which is transferred over dedicated IR ports on both devices.
Download the latest firmware versions from Shure using the SUU. Connect the computer to the internet. Open the SUU application. Click on the Check for Updates... button to view new firmware versions available to download. When the computer already has the latest versions, the No Updates Found message displays.

Go to DEVICE UTILITIES > TX FW UPDATE on the receiver. Place the transmitter on its side and align the IR ports. Press ENTER on the receiver to begin the download to the transmitter. IR ports must be aligned for the entire download, which can take 50 seconds or longer. Do not turn off the transmitter until the update is complete.
