TAA compliance is only required for federal procurements. Governmental agencies cannot purchase non TAA products for contracts above the threshold of $180,000 (the value may change). Practically, each GSA Schedule value exceeds the threshold, so one could say that the TAA is applicable to all Schedules.
Since only 15% of the cost originates from non TAA compliant country (China), the product is substantially transformed in the U.S. and designated countries, so it is TAA compliant. Now, let’s consider Part B supplier changed to China components as well.

Vegetable or tall oils may contain high amounts of free fatty acids which can cause severe corrosion in pipes, heat exchangers, reactors, and other equipment. Chlorine present in the feedstock will be converted into hydrogen chloride in the hydrotreating reactor, which can cause corrosion in both the reactor effluent stream and the sour water unit.
Large amounts of hydrogen are required to upgrade renewable feedstocks (300-400 Nm3/m of hydrogen is typically required to achieve a 100% renewable feed). This means you need a higher volume of make-up hydrogen and quench gas flow, even for co- processing relatively small amounts of renewable feedstock.
For processing renewable feedstocks, Topsoe's solutions provide full feedstock flexibility, enabling refineries to produce clean fuels from a wide range of feeds, including vegetable oil, animal fat, used cooking oil, pyrolysis oil, and crude tall oil. Topsoe has developed guard catalysts to handle contaminants and ensure full cycle length.
Hydrotreating of vegetable oils or animal fats is an alter-native process to esterification for producing biobased diesel fuels. Hydrotreated products are also called re-newable diesel fuels.
