String height or action describes the distance between the top of your frets to the bottom of your strings. This distance plays a key role in your setup because it determines the ease in which your guitar can be played. Action determines how much pressure and distance is required for the string to make full contact with each fret.

In Japan, guitar performance became very popular in the 60s, which helped Takamine to grow and implement new methods to satisfy its customers. That local success enabled Takamine to expand internationally in 1975, showing its qualities to the rest of the world.
Other features include gold tuners with amber buttons, distinctive wood "dot-in-dot" fingerboard inlays, a natural satin finish and Takamine’s acclaimed CT4B II preamp system for outstanding amplified sound and performance. Build on the features of the Pro Series 1 models with solid spruce tops.
But artists and technicians alike found it difficult to recreate the sound of their acoustic guitars as they played through microphones on large speakers. Takamine made a breakthrough in technology to solve this problem, they developed the under-saddle Palathetic? pickup in the mid to late 1970s.
Also, Takamine is famous for their laser engraving of the guitar and complex inlays. Their professional line of instruments are certainly as good as any American brand. I recently purchased a Gibson made with All North American Woods, Walnut back and sides, Maple neck, walnut fret board, and spruce top.

Takamine Ltd is a Guitar manufacturing Company in Japan which is based in Nakatsugawa. The name Takamine comes from Mount Takamine in Nakatsugawa. It is a manufacturer of musical instruments and majorly known for it's steel string acoustic Guitars.
Takamine steel-strings with squared-off headstocks are known as “lawsuit guitars,” even though there was never any litigation. To distance its guitars from Martin and other American makers, Takamine modified certain details on its steel-strings.
