Much the same, man . Was lucky enough to have a Hornet as my first kit- when I was 14. My stepdad and I built it over a week. Really took our time. I remember thinking how complex it was and how long it was going to take. I remember the smell of the tires, and the Tamiya poly paint we had to use a brush to apply.

Avoid spray painting on windy days or on rainy/cloudy days. Humidity in the air will take off the shine. 1.Shake spray can. 2.Spray on a light undercoat. 3.Add each coat little by little. 4.Dry thoroughly. It is easy to paint small parts while they are still connected to the sprue.

From Tamiya, acrylic and enamel bottled paints and lacquer series spray paints are available, but this time a new bottle of lacquer paint will join. Since it is a bottle, it can handle from wide area to delicate painting using air brush, of course it is also possible to mix colors freely.
Tamiya'S SCALE MODELS POSSESS SUCH INTRICATE DETAIL THAT THEY ARE OFTEN DESCRIBED AS "MUSEUM ITEMS". Tamiya's extensive lineup of radio-controlled vehicles provides a fulfilling building experience. Get the most out of your modeling and R/C project.
Now Tamiya is offering more than 3000 different products, both in the fields of precision static models and high performance radio control vehicles. These products are not only sold in Japan but also exported in vast quantities to the United States, Europe, South East Asia, and to many other parts of the world.
Many kits contain similar parts, so read the instruction manual carefully, always double-checking the part numbers. Glue parts together using Tamiya Cement. Apply a small amount of cement to one of the gluing surfaces and press the parts together. Leave for a while until cement has completely hardened.
The paint is a synthetic lacquer that cures in a short period of time. Each contains 100ml of paint, which is enough to fully cover 2 or 3, 1/24 scale sized car bodies. Tamiya spray paints are not affected by acrylic or enamel paints. Therefore, following an overall base coat, details can be added or picked out using enamel and/or acrylic paints.
Each bottle of the Tamiya Acrylic Paint Series contains 23ml of paint. Convert these colors to Testors Model Master, Humbrol, FS595, Vallejo, XtraColor, Revell using the Ultimate Model Paint Conversion Chart above.
Tamiya is many times larger than their next largest competitor, and they make just about every kind of hobby item, including paint. They didn’t get to be so dominant by making poor products. They make really good stuff. The model kits are good.
PS These spray paints were developed especially for decorating transparent polycarbonate bodies used in R/C car modeling. Each contain 100ml of paint, which is the appropriate amount for finishing a model. Paint the body from the inside, keeping the can about 30cm from the surface. After curing, apply another coat.
