The Taser 7 conducted energy device is a two-shot device with increased reliability over legacy products. The conductive wires spool from the dart when the Taser 7 conducted energy device is fired, instead of spooling from the Taser cartridge which increases stability while in flight and therefore increases accuracy.
The Taser X2 marked our shift to double-shot technology, featuring a backup shot and warning arc to increase voluntary surrenders. Keep officers and communities safer and save critical budget by bundling our products and services. Officer Safety Plans provide your agency with next-generation devices - like Taser 7 and Axon Body 3.
Taser currently has three self-defense weapons for sale. They are Taser Pulse, Taser Strikelight, and Taser Bolt. Other models still in circulation include the Taser M26 (still used by a number of law enforcement agencies), the Taser C2 (updated Taser Bolt) and the Taser X3 which was first introduced in 2009.
Taser 7 wirelessly connects to the Axon network, allowing for easier updates and inventory management. A Taser device may provide a safety benefit to police officers. The use of a Taser device has a greater deployment range than batons, pepper spray, or empty hand techniques. This allows police to maintain a greater distance.
Tasers are one of the most suitable weapons available for self defense. Unlike traditional stun guns, Tasers can be fired from a distance of up to 15 feet, and work on neuro-muscular incapacitation (NMI): they disrupt the nervous system causing involuntary muscular spasms whereas stun guns rely on pain to control an attacker.
Tasers are better for mid-range self defense, and are generally more reliable in their stopping power. This is because they create a 2-part circuit through the body and pump a ton of voltage in. This stops the muscles from working, disabling an attacker long enough for you to get away. They're quite a big pricier than stun guns, though.
The main difference between a stun gun and a Taser is range. A stun gun is a close-range weapon, and you need to be in close proximity with your target before you can use it which can be pretty dangerous if he wields a knife or other weapon. In contrast, a Taser can be used up to 15 feet away from a target.
In all states that allow the possession of a Taser however, a Taser can only be used for self-defense measures. So yes, an it is legal to Tase someone.
