The guide includes latent TB infection diagnosis and treatment information, sample documentation forms, and additional resources. This document is not meant to be used as a substitute for CDC guidelines, but rather as a ready and useful reference.
Supplies should include a vial of tuberculin, a single-dose disposable tuberculin syringe, a ruler with millimeter (mm) measurements, 2x2 gauze pads or cottonballs, alcohol swabs, a puncture-resistant sharps disposal container, record-keeping forms for the patient and provider, and a pen.
There are no randomised controlled trials that provide evidence to guide TB treatment in renal failure. Current treatment guidelines are based on reports from case series, the known pharmacological characteristics of the drugs used ,and recommendations of experts in the area, including international agencies involved in TB control.
