Tactical Emergency Casualty Care. NAEMT's Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) teaches EMS practitioners and other prehospital providers how to respond to and care for patients in a civilian tactical environment. It is designed to decrease preventable deaths in a tactical situation.
The newly validated Second Edition of the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course is designed to present a strong foundation of topics, concepts, principles, and skills specific to delivering emergency medical care for patients in a civilian tactical environment.
Upon successful completion of TECC, students will receive an NAEMT certification as a TECC Provider (valid for four years from course completion) and 16 hours of Category-I CMEs/CEUs from CAPCE (formerly known as “CECBEMS”). California Law Enforcement may submit POST-2-213/213A for Continuous Professional Training (CPT) credit.
Tactical Emergency medical services is out-of-hospital care given in hostile situations by specially trained practitioners. Tactical support provided through TEMS can be applied in either the civilian world, generally with special law enforcement teams such as SWAT and SERT, as well as with military special operations teams. Tactical EMS providers are paramedics, nurses, and physicians who are trained to provide life-saving care and, sometimes, transport in situations such as tactical police ope
Tactical Combat Casualty Care Course. The Tactical Combat Casualty Care Course (TC3) is a 2-day course conducted by NAEMT. TC3 provides skills to assess and manage a combat casualty from point of injury to a higher level of care. The target audience is deploying medical personnel assigned to line units.
Tactical Emergency Medical Services (TEMS) is out-of-hospital care given in hostile situations by specially trained practitioners. It is distinct from the care given by medics in war zones, as TEMS generally refers to care rendered by civilians.
