Lyndex vs. Techniks - Industrial Forum - eMastercam.com

Jan 19, 2005 . I would say most of the "brand" manufacturers are even. We don't run ours up to 15K, but we do run them up to 12K (I believe that's a G2.5 spec for a 50 taper). I have never used Techniks, but we do have a few Lyndex that we're very happy with. Our primary brand is Command. They are more pricey than Lyndex, but I find Lyndex to be just as good.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the CNC tooling guide?

This tooling guide has been put together to help both newcomers and even the more experienced to the CNC machining industry. The purpose is to assist with the selection of cutting tools and clamping systems.

  • What does tortorque mean?

Torque is about what the fastener is designed for. in most cases if they wanted more or less joint compression they would use a bigger or smaller bolt. I would have assumed drabar studs to be equivalent to the highest grade of bolt which is socket head cap screws and Looked in the tables. ** but dont!

  • What is the torque on a Bridgeport head bolts?

From what I can remember the bolts on a Bridgeport Head are 50 ft/lbs. I generally torque vise bolts the same (1/2"). Just remember if it is a click type that it should be wound down after use. If you leave the spring compressed it will not be accurate.

  • Do I need to use less torque on parts with thin walls?

Yes, most of the parts we machine have thin walls and floors and are prone to distortion, but if not tightened sufficiently they come up or come out or else you have to go very slowly. So I'm wondering if I need to use less torque or not.
