In general, under REACH you may have one of these roles: Manufacturer: If you make chemicals, either to use yourself or to supply to other people (even if it is for export), then you will probably have some important responsibilities under REACH.
In principle, REACH applies to all chemical substances; not only those used in industrial processes but also in our day-to-day lives, for example in cleaning products, paints as well as in articles such as clothes, furniture and electrical appliances.
This guidance describes the information requirements under REACH with regard to substance properties, exposure, use and risk management measures, in the context of the chemical safety assessment.
You can access the translations from this webpage: use the language menu on the top right corner of the page. This document describes when and how to register a substance under REACH. Note: this guidance is currently being updated. For the latest draft, please see the Consultation Procedure

Companies need to register their substances and to do this they need to work together with other companies who are registering the same substance. ECHA receives and evaluates individual registrations...
Guidance Documents. These documents have been developed with the participation of many stakeholders: Industry, Member States and NGOs. The objective of these documents is to facilitate the implementation of the legislation in ECHA's remit by describing good practice on how to fulfil the obligations.
REACH Regulation. The consolidated version of the Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) incorporates all of the amendments and corrigenda to REACH until the date marked in the first page of the regulation.
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is producing a series of shortened versions of the REACH Guidance Documents in order to make the corresponding Guidance Documents published by the Agency more accessible for industry.
