The design itself is an evolution of the UMX Timber, but features an updated turbo-prop look as well as a higher power 3400kv motor paired with a 3-blade propeller. The result is a bit better vertical performance if that’s something you’re looking for.

Original UMX Timber uses full flaps to fly indoors. Removing the heavy wheels tires, and fairings reduces the wing loading. Radian sized credit card skids are attached to the float gear that comes with the kit. Larger skids will go on my Turbo Timber; Views: 54 Dimensions are not critical. Flap length is about twice the chord.

With SAFE enabled, the UMX Turbo Timber is a sedate flyer. It requires large control inputs just to get around the pattern. This surely helps newer pilots get a feel for the airplane.

The design itself is an evolution of the UMX Timber, but features an updated turbo-prop look as well as a higher power 3400kv motor paired with a 3-blade propeller. The result is a bit better vertical performance if that’s something you’re looking for.
The video of the UMX Timber with an over-weight battery and wheels did not show an STOL airplane because it made long takeoff and landing rolls, fell out of rolls and never went vertical. It always flew as fast as my UMX F-16 jet.
