  Important Risk Information. The following conditions may occur during insulin therapy with V-Go: hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) or hyperglycemia (high blood glucose). Other adverse reactions associated with V-Go use include skin irritation from the adhesive pad or infections at the infusion site.

• What should you do when filling a V-go?

  Check the insulin package insert for temperature variation. Practice aseptic technique when preparing, filling, and attaching V-Go. Wash your hands, wipe the application site with an alcohol swab, and avoid V-Go coming in contact with anything.

• How many units of insulin do you need for V-go 20?

  A U100 fast-acting insulin should be used to fill V-Go. V-Go 20 requires two (2) vials of insulin. V-Go 30 and 40 require three (3) vials of insulin. 36 Units of insulin are available for on-demand bolus dosing in all V-Go options. Bolus doses are delivered in 2-Unit increments. Patients can only click the Bolus Delivery Button 18 times.

• How does the V-go insulin delivery device work?

  V-Go contains a pre-loaded needle. To inject it, you'll press a button on the patch. Your basal insulin will begin to flow freely into your body as soon as the needle is inserted. A button on the patch will administer the bolus insulin you need before meals to cover the spike in glucose that occurs when food is eaten.
