The Valley Oak design kept the basic small-wheeled wheel hoe geometry, but opted for a whole new method of attaching the tools. The tools attach to a square bar that extends back from the wheel. The company has a good reputation, but not having a double-wheel option, and having a smaller collection of attachments, does limit the possibilities.

My first outing with the Broadfork was in our newly erected Polytunnel and the soil was compacted like concrete, the Broadfork made it very easy for me to break it up ready for my Mantis Tiller. The Wheelhoe with the small blade has been great for weeding and also for cutting the sod off areas I am putting into a Veg garden.
Wheel hoes are tools you push through the rows of your garden to weed, till, cultivate, or plow. They have one or two wheels in the front, a tool-mounting area in the middle, and a set of handles in the rear. They first became popular in the late 1890's. What a wheel hoe is used for depends on what attachment is fastened to it.
