The core Value of a good leader is humility. It manifests in many ways – being confident enough in yourself to delegate to others and let them shine instead of taking the spotlight, for instance, is an example of humility.

Some examples of Values in a leader include fairness, honesty, equality, humanitarianism, loyalty, progress, pragmatism, excellence, and cooperation. In his book From Values to Action, Kraemer describes four principles of Values-based leadership:
