Well, actually it contained one large manual and 5 smaller ones and a long ago expired tire warranty. I quickly found the “Get Started” small manual which gave me all those easy graphics and instructions for running the car stereo and clock. I’ve long been captivated by the idea of creating a leadership “user’s manual.” The basic idea is that managers should create a short guide to their personality, work style and, yes, even quirks, so that their direct reports would know how to best work with them.
Visually appealing and well-researched, the template will let you cover the subject in an extensive manner. When the Values of an employee and an organization are aligned, it forms the basis of a Value-based leadership.
Your Values can be defined as the things you believe are most important to achieving your goals and being happy. Leadership Values are closely connected to both your personal core Values and the Values of your company. Why are leadership Values important?
Most of the user’s manuals I found online included a section of “Do’s” and “Don’ts.” As a variation of this I decided to include “Warnings” and “Known Defects” as a callback to the appliance manuals I was looking at.
