    Fisher®regulators and valves have traditionally been sized using equations derived by the company. There are now standardized calculations that are becoming accepted worldwide. Some product literature continues to demonstrate the traditional method, but the trend is to adopt the standardized method.

    Acceleration data can be directly related to valve loads which peak before and after valve seating. Over the range of valve seating, an unwanted phenomenon appears – valve bounce. This valve bouncing phenomenon will accelerate seat wear, results in a loss of power and may cause engine damage.
