Starting with the most recent bar on the chart and working backwards, sum each bars Price x Volume Ratio and each bars Volume Ratio until the summation of the Volume Ratio equals the period selected for the indicator. Vama = Cumulative Sum of Price x Volume Ratio / indicator period.
Vama makes price and volume equal partners when computing the average. Higher volume trading days are more heavily weighted than lower volume days. With time-based moving averages the period determines how many bars are used to calculate the average.
VAMS is also available for use in traditional medical practices that do not have existing IT systems for COVID-19 vaccination clinic management. VAMS is free for public health-approved clinics, and can be used on computers, tablets, and other mobile devices.
Volume Adjusted Moving Average – Vama. It is a special type of Moving Average that takes into account not just the time period, but also the Volume of single days. Days with higher Volume are more important than the others.
In Fidelity's Active Trader Pro ®, for example, simply open a chart and select "Indicators" from the main menu. Search for or navigate to moving averages, and select the one you would like added to the chart.
Potential trading opportunities would occur when the averages cross each other. Calculate the average volume using every time period in the entire price series being studied (note that this means that the exact value of the moving average will vary depending on which periods you use).
