The Vanatoo Zero’s replaced my well used KEF Piccoforte powered desktop speakers, probably going on 8 years old now. A wonderful speaker system that excelled at many things….lower mid/upper bass not one of them yet the KEF’s were as good as anything I have heard for mid level volume music for under $200 (back then).

Aug 08, 2017 . The owner's manual says connect the sub out to your sub. Set the sub crossover to the highest level, and the Vanatoo will provide the crossover roll off at 120 hz. The sub you ask about can be set as high as 160 hz for the crossover. So set it to 160 hz and the Vanatoo will do one at 120 hz and the sub will never know the difference.

The settings required for best performance are: Disables sleep mode - otherwise you will have to wait a few seconds for the speakers to turn on. Compressors disabled - Not usually an issue, but I'd rather the speaker distort than become tonally out of balance when playing too loud.
The T0 used an Ethernet cable to connect the two speakers, whereas the T1E uses a heftier-feeling cable with screw-on connectors. The speakers are supplied with a 6 m long cable, which should suffice for the majority of installations, but Vanatoo can also supply a 2 m or 10 m long cable, if needed.

It's not really a problem as these are not PA speakers, and should not suffer from thermal compression in regular playback. One upside to this choice is that they don't need to worry about sound leaking through the vent. Same design passive radiator, with the only change being the addition of "Encore" stamped on the part.
