The main purpose of a return air Vent is to maintain air circulation and allow air to return to your AC system to be heated or cooled. Your AC system works by recirculating the air in your home while also conditioning it. As the conditioned air is pumped into your home, the air that is already in your home needs a place to escape.
Automatic air Vents are the easiest and most cost effective solution to eliminate trapped air pockets in your sprinkler system. Simply install a Potter PAAR-B or Potter PAV at the high point on your sprinkler system most remote from the riser. As the system fills, the corrosive oxygen can escape and the system can fill with water.
Air Vent (Automatic Air Venting) When liquid is pumped through the system at startup, the initial air inside the piping is pushed into the air Vent by the pressure of the flow. The float remains in the lower part of the air Vent, allowing the valve to remain open and continuously discharge air.
An air admittance valve (AAV), sometimes called an auto Vent, is a device attached to the fixture drain line. It has a mechanism that opens up to admit room air into the drain under the force of the negative pressure caused by water flowing through the drain.

This circuit conserves Nitrogen use and reduces the normal motive pressure eductor supply to approximately 20 psig, with an eductor return point back pressure of 1 psig. As the eductor’s back pressure increases (caused by increasing flare header pressures) the vacuum created by the eductor will be reduced.
