A SIM swap lets you keep your current Vodafone number when you get a replacement SIM. You'll need to do this if you have a new device that requires a different sized SIM (for example if you've upgraded), if your device is lost or stolen, or if your SIM is damaged. This is the largest SIM type around now.
To upgrade Vodafone 3G SIM to 4G, you may visit your nearest Vodafone store/retail outlet and request a 4G upgradation. Users can locate their nearest Vodafone retail outlet on Vodafone’s official website.
Network integration between Vodafone and Idea is almost complete and looking at that, Vi has started upgrading its 3G data users to Vi GIGAnet 4G network in select telecom circles. Since the 4G resources of both the companies are integrated, it has enormously improved the 4G network capacity for Vi.
The 3G customers of the telco will have to get a 4G SIM card from Vi to be able to switch to the high-speed Vi GIGAnet 4G. Customers using the 3G network who can’t upgrade to 4G because of various reasons will be able to use the 2G network for calling and data.
You cannot do the upgrade online. You can follow the below steps, OR go to any nearest Idea retail store which sells SIM cards for upgrading your SIM to 4G. Ideally the retailers are not supposed to charge you for the new SIM, but some crooks do.
