May 29, 2019 . One of the most serious issues that can happen to your Volkswagen Tiguan‘s engine is if it ends up with low oil pressure. Low oil pressure will cause the engine to seize up. When the oil pressure light on, it should be assumed that the engine locking up is imminent. We advise not running the engine until the issue can be properly diagnosed.

Vw requires the car to be serviced for an oil change by 10,000 miles but at the 8000 mile mark my mom's vw Tiguan had lost almost 2 1/2 quarts of oil. For a new car this is way too much oil to be burned.
It was very disappointing to see any vehicle using a fragile, unprotected plastic oil pan at the bottom of the engine, especially the Tiguan, which is marketed as a sport utility vehicle. Rear main oil seal design is insignificant.
Volkswagen recommends that when you head to the pump with your 2018 VW Tiguan you fill it up with high-quality premium fuel. With that being said, in this case it is a recommendation and not a requirement. You could choose to use regular fuel in its place.
Ultimately, the 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan offers a sleek package that is extremely sporty for the segment along with a build quality and appeal that is far more premium than most of its competitors. Like its premium brother, the Porsche Cayenne, the Tiguan is not your usual crossover .
