VW lock the gas tank with central locking. possibly the actuator stuck or dead. or the door not unlocked. try locking and unlocking all doors several times. and observe if all doors are responding. 1 Answer. Re: Gas door on my 2015 vw tiguan is stuck and I am very... To open the Gas Door when it is stuck, you will need a tongue depressor or something about the same thickness. Make sure all door are unlocked, then gentle place the tongue depressor in the gas door where the locking mechanism is located. Now gently pry the door open, this take a little bit of prying but this will pop the door open.

Dec 06, 2018 . Volkswagen Pasadena (California). Service writer was C.S. (I won't call out the person's name). Here are the parts replaced: 1 5GE-809-857 Retainer. 1 5C6-810-773-H Actuator. They also replaced the fuel filler door because they had to break it off to replace the parts. No P/N listed.

Once this has been done, you should find a sort of lever that once activated will allow you to open the tailgate of your Volkswagen Tiguan from the inside. Pull the boot -5- over the fuel filler neck -4- and tighten the screw -3-. Tightening specification for bolt -2- 2 Nm. Adjusting Element, Removing and Installing. Removing. Open the service flap in the side luggage compartment trim. Disconnect the connector -3-. Remove the tank flap unit.

If the actuator has failed then unfortunately there is no cable for the fuel door its all operated by a electronic click push type actuator even if you remove the boot liner trim on that side you may not be able to get the latch to release because these actuators are replaced when the fuel door is open
