Games with cards, and dice, and sometimes - SOMETIMES - strategy. The company that made proper board games in the UK was Waddingtons.

During the 1930s Waddington’s produced Scandinavian-style packs for Holmblads (S. Salomon & Co.) of Denmark. The card game Whot was acquired from W. H. Storey & Co during the late 1930s. In April 1940 the supplies of playing card board were cut off when Norway was invaded.
Pearl Mair confirms that is was “Produced under contract to Mark Eliot by Waddingtons Playing Card Co. Ltd'. It was actually produced in 1980 and cost £6.47 including postage and packaging”. A contact describes this game as “a fast moving game of strategy.”
Movement is by card carrots and you have to lose your lettuces by missing a turn on lettuce square or one of the gamble options on the Hare square. New carrots can be gained by moving backwards, staying on carrot squares or predicting which position you will be in the race on the next turn.
User documentation, be it called a user manual, user guide, or other, is usually provided to customers once they buy a product or services. Still, the users frequently keep asking the same questions again and again.
Software, computers, games, and devices require user manuals, guides that explain how to use the product (and how not to). A user manual is a formal writing piece with a specific structure, and should be written by someone who is intimately familiar with the product such as a technical writer or the product designer.
A user guide is task-based documentation. A user guide is document that explains how to use software to do procedures. A user guide answers the question, "How do I…?". A user guide can contain operating instructions, maintenance instructions, technical descriptions, flow charts, drawings, and diagrams.
