Aug 17, 2006 . I found a dealer that is looking to unload 3 Yazoo/Kees for what he say is only $200 above his cost. They are Midmax's with 21hp Kawasaki's and 52'' deck. He's asking $5700. I would like to know if this is a good buy, or is he just blowing smoke. I have no experience with Yazoo, so any input would be helpful.

My father sold Yazoo's through the 1950's and 60's to people around the area who knew the advantages of a Yazoo and wern't afraid to mow with one. As time went on they became much safer and the S model built in the 1980's had a stamped deck. A friend stopped one day and asked me if I could get her one.

Yazoo Lawn Mower Reviews Yazoo/ Kees brand name is relatively new in the lawn mower space as it has been in existence for just a few years more than a decade. However, this new entity was formed by the merger of two very old and popular brands and hence the final product is reliable and with a lot of innovative features.
Yazoo built the 3 wheeled riding mowers from sometime in the 60’s into the 80’s in a factory in Jackson, Mississippi. The 3 wheeled Master Mower design came in a variety of power plants, with mowing decks ranging from 36″ up to a massive 76″. The model number also designates, the mower deck size.
All Yazoo/Kees mowers have electric clutch blade engagement systems. Other drive system specifications express the speed of the mower, transmission type, steering control, wheel size, and whether the mower is equipped with an electro magnetic clutch.
A dealer near me has a 2003 YAZOO KEES 72" COMMERCIAL 27HP ZERO TURN. The mower has 135 hrs on it and has been used as a demo machine. I am told this mower ran for $10,300.00 NEW in 2003.

1982 - Tegtmeier leaves Kees and starts eXmark with a few investment partners. 1997 - After both trading hands several times over many years, Yazoo acquires Kees forming Yazoo Kees. 1999 - Husqvarna acquires Yazoo Kees. 2006 - Husqvarna is spun-off from Electrolux to become a separate entity.
Yhe only thing close to the same between the Exmark and the Yazoo Kees is the Address and possibly the tires. I have no personal experience with Yazoo kees mowers but a dealer that I know used to carry them along with Gravely and Scag and didn't like the Y-K's near as well as the Gravelys and Scags.
