Product Design Specification - an overview ScienceDirect

Components are divided into two groups. The first group includes components that perform a primary function, and therefore exist for fundamental reasons. These components are considered essential, or A, parts. The second group, B components, are nonessentials, such as fasteners and locators. The design efficiency (DE) is computed using the formula:

Swagger is now the OpenAPI Specification : programming

Yep. My personal opinion is that we keep repeating history because the customer keeps insisting that they know exactly what they want before the software is written. This is known to be a lie, so we build extremely flexible protocols and patterns to allow for the changing needs as the customer slowly discovers what they really need during ...

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the different parts of a specification?

The original listing of specification divisions was based on the time sequence of construction, working from exterior to interior, and this logic is still somewhat followed as new materials and systems make their way into the construction process. Each section is subdivided into three distinct parts: "general", "products" and "execution".

  • How are building specifications prepared in the UK?

Specifications in the UK are part of the contract documents that accompany and govern the construction of a building. They are prepared by construction professionals such as architects, architectural technologists, structural engineers, landscape architects and building services engineers.

  • What should be included in a product design specification?

The PDS is a statement of what the customer wants the product to achieve. In some cases the customer is external and in some cases (e.g. product range extensions for own-brand products) the customer is internal. In every case, a PDS must be prepared to act as a reference for the objectives of the design.

  • Who is responsible for the development of specifications?

Standards for specifications may be provided by government agencies, standards organizations ( SAE, AWS, NIST, ASTM, ISO, CEN, DoD, etc.), trade associations, corporations, and others. The following British standards apply to specifications: BS 7373-2:2001 Product specifications.

  • What are the different types of seat posts?

Seatposts fall into three major categories: suspension posts, telescoping or dropper posts, and traditional aluminum posts. Suspension Seatposts - As the name suggests, these offer between 1 and 3 inches of travel for the seat. They can greatly improve ride comfort and may be handy for longer rides.

  • How are seatposts adjustable on a mountain bike?

Height-Adjustable Seatposts (aka telescoping or dropper posts) - These make it possible to climb efficiently with a high saddle, then, with the flick of a switch, the seat can be dropped to a comfortable descending height. This is done either by a remote mounted on the handlebar or a lever on the seatpost itself.

  • How much does it cost to make a seatpost?

Moving up to models between $75 and $200, posts become increasingly lighter thanks to advanced designs, construction techniques, and the use of carbon fiber. Seatposts costing over $200 are either dropper posts, extremely lightweight carbon fiber designs or models equipped with suspension.

  • How does a single rail seatpost work?

This system uses a seat with an integrated bolt that connects vertically into the top of the seatpost. Single Rail Seatposts use one rail running front to back in the middle of the seat, made of either plastic or carbon fiber, as a clamping surface on the saddle. The required seatpost then clamps on either side of this one rail.
