Zero-Five 43 Foot Multi-Band Vertical Antenna. If you are looking for a contest winning, DX powerhouse antenna, this is not the antenna for you! If you live on a city lot or in a covenant restricted neighborhood, this could get you on the air on 160 through 10 meters. This antenna requires a good ground plane beneath it and I would suggest ...

Jun 26, 2008 . ZeroFive Antenna — Performance. After prepping the parts, installing the antenna, and installing the radials, we finally get to performance of the 40-10 meter vertical from ZeroFive Antennas. The antenna is designed to work with a tuner. In my case, I use the built-in tuner on the Yaesu FT-1000MP. SWR is more than acceptable with the tuner.

Sep 15, 2018 . Do you realize that a Zero Five on 160 with 200 ft of RG-213 should radiate about 0.8 watts for a 100 watt transmitter. If you have a 4 to 1 unun at the base, it should radiate about 2.1 watts. The rest of the power is dissipated in the coax, and an insignificant amount in the ground. You really need a remote tuner at the base of this antenna.

Zero Five Antenna. My Antenna Installation. After the hurricanes of 2005 came roaring through Orlando I had little, if anything left of the 3 element, tri-band quad that had served me so well for over 20 years. After the storms were gone and hurricane season was over here I decided it was time for a major renovation of the antenna “farm”.

Dec 17, 2011 . ZeroFive Antennas Most of the ZeroFive Antennas are non resonant vertical antenna that work well for DX, first of all being non resonant they don't bring in extraneous band noise, you get a lot better signal to noise radio in less than ideal radio conditions, (you can hear the other stations better) Thats better than trying to take noise away from the signal with a DSP unit that always adds something to the incoming signal, fact is a signal will always come over the noise …

ZEROFIVE-ANTENNAS uses only true T832 aircraft aluminum!!! The Colossal 10K standard can handle up to 15,000 watts PEP when direct fed. What I really love are his very own High Q High Efficient matching networks!!!
You will find that Zero Five is one antenna company that does state their antennas require radials. Antenna Assembly & Installation When the antenna arrived I was surprised at the packaging, kind of small for a 43 foot antenna, one thing was evident was that the the crew at Zero Five really know how to pack their product.

On 80m there is a slope of around 1.5 SWR from the low end to the high end. This makes the antenna really easy to tune with my Palstar AT2k tuner. One the input and output are set for any band, I can move around anywhere in the band by adjusting the inductor. This makes tuning very fast. I used LMR 400 for the feed line.
Zero-Five Antennas is advertizing a "Groundplane 17 through 80 meter multiband vertical, (new for 2010), designed for hams that do not have room for ground radials.
Also the Colossal 4 (not shown on website/special order), also my very own CUSTOM 2 (PDLII style) ZEROFIVE (one of a kind) built. ZEROFIVE-ANTENNAS uses only true T832 aircraft aluminum!!!

Above 30 meters, you want to use horizontal antennas as opposed to verticals. Hearing on 160/80 is your challenge. The Inverted L on 160 is a good all around antenna. On 80, your loop may work better for domestic or Caribbean contacts. KD6RF likes this.
