Jun 26, 2008 . ZeroFive Antenna — Performance. After prepping the parts, installing the antenna, and installing the radials, we finally get to performance of the 40-10 meter vertical from ZeroFive Antennas. The antenna is designed to work with a tuner. In my case, I use the built-in tuner on the Yaesu FT-1000MP. SWR is more than acceptable with the tuner.

ZeroFive Antennas. Stealth Antennas were covered on another page of our web site (stealth antennas) and yet we felt the need to cover the Zero Five line of amateur radio antennas. The reason for this is that the Zero Five line of antennas will cover any and all HF1 bands as well as all the shortwave radio frequencies. Along with the frequency coverage the Zero Five is excellent for stealth work.

ZEROFIVE-ANTENNAS uses only true T832 aircraft aluminum!!! The Colossal 10K standard can handle up to 15,000 watts PEP when direct fed. What I really love are his very own High Q High Efficient matching networks!!!
I've had my 43' 160-10 ZeroFive vertical up just at a month. Went together like a breeze. Started with 8 radials in the ground. That was taking forever so went the lawn staple route and now have 73 radials down, ranging from 30' to 43'.
On 80m there is a slope of around 1.5 SWR from the low end to the high end. This makes the antenna really easy to tune with my Palstar AT2k tuner. One the input and output are set for any band, I can move around anywhere in the band by adjusting the inductor. This makes tuning very fast. I used LMR 400 for the feed line.

Zero-Five Antennas is advertizing a "Groundplane 17 through 80 meter multiband vertical, (new for 2010), designed for hams that do not have room for ground radials.
All of the elevated vertical antennas I have heard of or seen in action have been resonant "ground plane" antennas - the elements are all 1/4 wave length (or there abouts). The best performing one was a 40m wire antenna hung in trees and fed with RG-8.
Super wide bandwidth means more time operating ,and less time stuck on a frequency your trap vertical is tuned for. Designed for hams that do not have room for ground radials. This vertical antenna has 6 ridged aluminum radials 100 inches long each, and can be mounted at any height between 6 to 10 feet off the ground for best performance.
