It's input for the docking station is USB-C. Standard smart phone power supply will work, with the right cable. 2. Even though there is power to the docking station, you will have to power your laptop separately. I taped the power supply jack to the dock, with enough pigtail to reach the laptop.
This USB-C adapter does what I primarily need it to do: Plug into a laptop, tie in to two HDMI monitors, and show three different screens. The proprietary Dell hub does this, but is about $140 shipped. This little unit handles it well, it just does not charge the computer (you will need to continue to use your AC adapter).
