If you want to skip reading the Quick Start Guide, go the FTDI driver page here. Unplug WKUSB and then download and run the Windows setup executable.

Dec 26, 2008 . The WinKeyer has four buttons and a speed control. The speed control pot makes changing speeds much faster than is possible with the PicoKeyer. The four pushbuttons allow quick access to any of the four memories. It took me about an hour and a half to build the kit.

There is so much information on the K1EL website that it is hard to digest at first. The three files you need to download from that website are the WKUSB Quick Start Guide, WKTEST and WKMGR. The Quick Start Guide explains how to set up the WKUSB. WKTEST helps you select the COM port for the USB connection to set your personal preferences on the keyer.

In most cases, current version PCs ship with the FTDI USB driver pre-installed. This means you do not need to manually install a USB driver. Alternatively, if you are connected to the internet when you plug WKUSB in, Windows will go out and find the driver on its own. However this can take a very long time.
